Membership
On 31 December 2005 there were 1,248,935 members in four obligatory pension funds (hereafter OMF).
During 2005 87,877 new members, or on monthly average 7,323 members, joined OMFs. For comparison, in the same period in 2004, the number of new members was higher – altogether 105,271 members, that is, on monthly average 8,772 members.

In the period January-December 2005 there were 79.96% of new members, among which 70,269 of them were placed by REGOS under official duty, in one of OMFs, while 20.04% or 17,608 new members personally applied for OMF. In the same period in 2004 86.93% (91,510 members) were placed by REGOS in one of OMFs and 13.07% (13,761 members) by personal registration.

In 2005 for 2,590 OMF members personal accounts were closed. From 2,007 personal accounts means were transferred to Croatian Pension Insurance Institute due to retirement (307 family pensions, 1,500 invalid pensions and 200 early pensions), means were transferred to heirs from 250 personal accounts, and 333 personal accounts were closed due to other reasons.
According to the gender structure of the OMF members, on 31 December 2005, out of the total of 1,248,935 OMF members, 655,342 or 52.47% of them were male, and 593,593 or 47.53% of them were female.
Age structure of the members at the end of 2005 was: 0.72% of members were at the age of 18 and under 18, and 16.30% of the members were between 19 and 24 years of age. The following three age groups are equally represented with: 20.60% of members (between 25 and 29 years of age), 19.93& (between 30 and 34 years of age), and 19.51% (between 35 and 39 years of age). 16.97% of members were between 40 and 44, 4.66% between 45 and 49 years of age, and 1.31% or 16,359 members were 50 or over fifty.
